Eliminate Poverty of Food Knowledge:

It's not just about what's taste good, or even the favorite foods of human consumption, it's about finding a balance between what we love and enjoy, and what promotes and strengthens all life on the planet. The Earth's complex ecosystem which has been severely damaged by the unconscious & consciously destructive elements of humanity.

3 points of focus to expand the food supply in quality & quantity:

  1. Aquaponics
  2. Hydroponics
  3. Micro farms & community farms

Aquaponics Benefits: Eliminate round up, round up more space.

1.)  Saves Space: Systems allow you to place plants closer to each other than normal which saves a lot of space.
2.)  No Weeding: Another benefits of aquaponics at home is that you don’t need to do any weeding. Aquaponics systems don’t encourage/favor the growth of weeds.
3.)  No Soil Pests: Aquaponics systems are also beneficial because they don’t harbour soil pests. Soil pests destroy plants. The only way to eliminate soil pests is by using pesticides. Elimination of harsh chemicals from our soils would be a major step towards ecological recovery.
4.)  Offers A Boost of Income for small farmers: When you use an aquaponics system at home, you are bound to increase your food production significantly because you can plant more vegetables using very little space.
5.)  Plants Grow Faster: The fact that plants have access to nutrients 24 hours makes them grow faster. For instance, vegetables such as lettuce, which takes approximately 2 months to mature when planted normally in soil have been proven to mature in approximately one month when grown under aquaponics systems.
6.)  Healthy Eating: This is probably the number one reason why people resort to raising their own produce. The generic food and vegetables found in stores contain so many different chemicals which is hazardous to people’s health. Aquaponics is one of the best, if not the best means of producing your own food.
7.)  This is a great system that could be used to provide a source of healthy fresh fish to help curb the devastation of the worlds oceans, while continuing to provide a healthier & sustainable source of food for humans.

Hydroponics Benefits: Diversify and Conquer

1.) Many of the same benefits of aquaponics, hydroponics requires even less space than traditional gardening.

2.) Saves as much as 2/3 on water, due to no soil loss & recycling of water.

3.) Having fewer parts and less to interlink the hydroponics set up is easier to manage on a limited budget.

4.) Complete control over nutrient balance.

5.) Hydroponics & aquaponics produce a higher quality more nutritious food than traditional farming methods, especially when used in depleted soils heavily using fertilizer & chemicals.

Micro Farms & Community Farms:

According to the World Health organization, one of the most troubling problems is the way that our food is produced and distributed. The switch from large scale industrialized farming, with it's heavy dependency on pesticides, herbicides, & fungicides isn't just practical, it's necessary. By teaching people the essential skill of how to grow their own food, it empowers them enormously, and makes them significantly less susceptible to abuse of authority.

The idea is to create communities that can function independently with a focus on functioning interdependently.
